Biofilia Inc. is a Vancouver-based supplier of herbal products, essential oils and fine teas. The main focus of Biofilia is to bring high-quality natural products at a fair price to everyone. What benefits has your store received by using Point of Sale?

POS is a good way to process invoices quickly. Even in a wholesale environment, using a POS means less time spent on paperwork. Running an efficient invoicing system that anyone can learn also means I can hire anyone who has retail experience, reducing training time and costs. We can process orders quickly. As a result, the paperwork doesn't slow down the order being shipped. We have the efficiency of retail processing, without compromising the needs of managing a large inventory. Barcode, barcode, barcode!

Why did you originally choose to purchase POS•IM?

POS•IM is committed to supporting the Apple platform and has done so for a long time. Ensign provides a robust demo version that one can put through its paces. I don't want to be a guinea pig for a new, untested, developing system.

What benefits has your store received by using POS•IM?

We have benefited in many ways. The wide variety of reporting is a good introduction to business concepts we weren't even aware of. POS•IM keeps us more organized. POS•IM allows movement of date-sensitive products more efficiently, and helps reduce waste. The concept of inventory turns is new, and extremely relevant as we have accumulated an inventory of over 800 items. Identifying dead weight inventory is important.

What is your favorite feature in POS•IM?

POS•IM's interface is deceptively simple. Reports on POS•IM rock my world. POS•IM has stellar customer and technical support. Practically every day, I learn something new about POS•IM. Often I learn about something I didn't know I needed.
